Never OK is a national student led campaign to end sexual harassment and assault. We believe everyone has the right to live, study and work in a safe and supportive environment and that sexual harassment and assault is Never OK.
Harassment and assault can happen on campus, in bars, on public transport or online. Sexual harassment and assault can come from a complete stranger or from someone you know well. Most harassment and assault is unreported. Some people feel embarrassed, or think that they won’t be taken seriously. We believe that you should never have to put up with sexual harassment or assault. You should never be made to feel uncomfortable by another individual.
The campaign aims to:
- Raise awareness around the issue of sexual harassment and assault in an effort to reduce the stigma attached, and lift the visibility around support services.
- Provide a framework of resources for campus-based student led campaigns and help develop strategies to help tackle the issue and change attitudes towards sexual harassment and assault.
- Work with universities, student associations/guilds/unions, community groups and external organisations to bring change to the culture that leads towards sexual harassment and assault.
This campaign has been inspired by the work of the University of Exeter Students’ Guild and the voices of students across Australia.
